They were just fantastic.
Real country music.
Oh how I love this song! She sings it so beautifully.
Thank God for the Internet.
Fantastic
Thank the gods I got to see him play several times. First at "Stompin' 76, a 3-day Bluegrass Festival in Galax, VA. He went from straight-up bluegrass music, to jamming with Jerry Garcia in "Old and in the Way," to "Hillbilly Jazz," ...to eternity. What an incredible musician.
Jennie has the one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard ❤
Anyone know what the band's name was? I assume "The Stealers". Anyone miss when country back up bands had names? The Buckaroos, The Strangers, The Jones Boys, The Cherokee Cowboys, The Drifting Cowboys. They had imagination. Now you get stuff like "The Garth Brooks band". Was having your name on the Marquee not enough Garth?
Kathy Mattea's band was called "Monster Tractor Pull"... because one day they pulled into a County Fair and saw a sign that said "Tonight... Kathy Mattea and Monster Tractor Pull"!

Oldie from the past
the simplicity of Royces perfect backing vocals,....this music grabs you.
the best on thes no one can sing like she can love them
Bravo Skrzypce😊❤🎉
So cool!
I never knew Royce or Mac; Jeanie and my wife Bonnie are best friends. Rune from leaping Hawk records.
Clements Is really sporty
So sad that ROYCE passed away they were a great duo together
Vassar Clements can sing quite well! I've only ever seen/heard him play.
Is that Charlie Garner singing backup with them?
Yes it is. Sadly, Charlie passed away a few years ago. He was a great friend and a great musician.
My cousin and aways in my heart
Nicely done , love it
Love the Kendall’s. Too bad Rory passed…father and daughter were magical!
I missed so much all these songs especially from the great Kendalls what a performance against the time
I guess I like it. I have never heard it started out like that on the fiddle before. He adds alot of his own expressionism in there. That's not to say that's bad, it isn't. It's just not a pure version of OBS. Just my opinion. He's good, and so are the other players.
Yeah - I'm with you. This doesn't really do anything for me. As the saying goes - "just cuz ya can, doesn't mean you should." There is really nothing in here that sounds like Orange Blossom Special. Reckon I'm just too dumb...
Saw them perform this song at Ft Hood, one of their post live summer acts. Really good show.
Wow, Vasser plays that fiddle like a magician. Incredible display of talent!!! Rock on Vasser, wherever you are!!! ❤️🌟👏
my mon's cousins were the wilburn brothers and they came home here to hardy, arkansas in the early 70s for a homecoming country show....the knedalls were one of the many groups to perform that day....they were great....many years later when in was in a restaurant in harrison, arkansas, the waitress told me that if i looked across the room, the kendalls were having lunch there...sure enough...i went over and chatted with them for a couple of minutes and they were very nice....just jeannie and her husband...royce had passed away they told me.....they remembered coming to hardy and doing that show....they told me they were living in nearby omaha, arkansas. ....they were a very talented singing couple and a credit to good country music
I think her dad Royce had a stroke shortly after a concert they did, I believe that was the day he died.
Beautiful
Austin’s is a complete sh-t hole now. How times changes for the worst.
My mom used to listen to this song. Over and over and over . She passed away in 1988 at 41 years old. Sometimes I just stop by here to remember her. ❤ thanks for posting.
God bless.
Love her voice. Light but strong. She would be a huge Bluegrass act.
Gosh use to watch Austin City Limits on Saturday night on PBS.
Ausome very nice music would listen day an nite congrats continue singing
Blast beats on drums! Lol
Wish this music would come back... at least a guy can dream. Thank you for putting this song on!
I hadn't listened to these guys for years when I came across a greatest hits CD. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop. These 2 really made great country music.
really enjoyed this...thanks for posting!!
The best
Great father/daughter duo from the burbs of St. Louis. Larry Kingston wrote one the greatest plays on words ever. Nobody could sing this but Royce and his daughter Jeanie.
I saw him on The VHS Nitty-gritty dirt band, Will the Circle be Unbroken, incredible player..Great album.
matur suksma
I love you
Miles Davis recorded this tune but it was written by Denzil Best, a bebop-era drummer who died in 1965. Also the tune has been heavily modified. The repeated interval at the start of the original tune is a fourth, and much of the harmonic movement of the original has been "washed out." Here Clements is playing a third -- a clever adaptation for the fiddle. Love the vintage "Yamaha Electric Grand" keyboard.
2021 still here, I hope I can here this after I am gone
qqf
The harmony of their voices is so delicious. I never tire of listening to these two.
Hold back the rushing minutes make the wind lie still Don't let the moonlight shine across the lonely hill Dry all the raindrops hold back the sun My world has ended my baby's gone. The Milkman whistles softly as he comes up to my door The Mailman brings the letters just like he did before They seem so busy all day long as though there's nothing wrong Don't they know the world has ended my Baby's Gone? Hold back the rushing minutes make the wind lie still Don't let the moonlight shine across the lonely hill Dry all the raindrops hold back the sun My world has ended my baby's gone. I wake up sometimes in the night and realize you're gone And then I toss upon my bed and wait for day to come I try to tell my lonely heart it must go on alone Don't they know the world has ended my baby's gone. Hold back the rushing minutes make the wind lie still Don't let the moonlight shine across the lonely hill Dry all the raindrops hold back the sun My world has ended my baby's gone. Don't they know the world has ended my baby's gone...
What a voice! No more needs to be said...
To you...you know who you are: you are an arsehole. Love the Kendalls. You'll never find a heart like mine. Oh excuse me...you done this so many times...to so many others. Remember God saw you....yours is coming.
They sure sound great together. I guess when you've had the same partner since her birth you can train her right.
